Another beauty that impresses everyone when visiting Samui is the opportunity to see the panoramic sea view from luxurious villas perched on the hills. And here, the sea view is breathtakingly beautiful, no less than anywhere else. “Merit Resort Samui,” offers views that are truly stunning. The hotel is located on the eastern coast of Samui, where the area is quiet but not far from Chaweng Beach and Lamai Beach. The highlight of the “Merit Resort Samui” is that every villa offers a sea view, adorable prices, and most importantly, delicious food.
The resort’s check-in point is right at the front, which also doubles as a restaurant. This allows us to know that besides the captivating accommodation views, experiencing the cuisine of “Merit Resort Samui” at the Merit Life Cafe is something not to be missed. Everyone will get to enjoy million-dollar views along with top-notch food. The restaurant opens from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The restaurant is situated atop a high cliff, overlooking villas arranged in tiers below. Can you see those rocky cliffs? We think this is something truly iconic. Even on the day we visited, when the weather wasn’t cooperating and the sky was overcast, it added a subtle charm to the sea’s ever-changing hues. Despite the moody weather, the sea still retained its allure.
We arrived around noon, just in time for lunch, and decided to indulge in a meal first. Given the wellness resort concept here, the food is meticulously prepared with an emphasis on organic vegetables grown on-site. We tried the mango shrimp salad with avocado, dressed in a slightly spicy and tangy sauce, and the seafood spaghetti stir-fry. It’s safe to say that being seafood on an island, the freshness of the seafood was outstanding, and the flavors were absolutely delightful. The burger was another highlight, featuring a big juicy beef patty topped with cheese, vegetables, and a side of crispy fries. We were so satisfied that we almost skipped dinner.
Mango smoothie served with large mango chunks and a hint of soda.
Let’s go check out the room! Our accommodation is the Deluxe Pool and Sea View, boasting a bathtub that’s simply irresistible. Soaking in the water while enjoying the view, who wouldn’t fall in love with a stay like this? However, I must say, staying in this room requires a bit of stamina because you’ll have to walk up and down stairs to reach the lobby or the dining area. Since the accommodation is perched on a cliff, if you prefer not to walk too much, you might want to opt for a room closer to the main facilities. It’s advisable to inquire about this before booking.
The room and bed face towards the sea.
If it’s just a plain Deluxe Villa, you’ll still have a sea view, but it might be partially obstructed, and you won’t get the full panoramic view of the panorama. However, in a Deluxe Seaview room, you’ll have an unobstructed view of the sea.
The Beachfront Sea View room is exceptionally beautiful, located right at the forefront by the beach. It’s romantically decorated, perfect for a honeymoon, and offers a lot of privacy.
The fitness center is located near the breakfast restaurant and the swimming pool.
The infinity pool is absolutely stunning, and it’s another spot where you can enjoy the view and take beautiful photos. Additionally, there is a children’s pool available.
For the spa, it’s recommended to book in advance. The spa here offers reasonable prices and excellent service. Massages are conducted in private rooms, ensuring tranquility and relaxation.
Dinner at “Merit Life Cafe” recommends the delicious and worthwhile seafood set. Grilled seafood set includes shrimp, crab, fish, squid, grilled fish, and cockles. No wonder why staying on the island is so enjoyable. The seafood is very fresh.
Let me recommend the main dishes first because they are the highlights, but the appetizers are also fantastic. I’m particularly drawn to the crispy fried prawns, which have a crunchy exterior and juicy interior, complemented by crispy noodles and sweet dipping sauce. As for the pork skewers, they’re exceptionally tender and go perfectly with the dipping sauce.
The dessert is authentic sago pearls from Phatthalung Province. It’s my first time trying sago pearls like this, and it’s quite different from those made from tapioca starch. Authentic sago pearls have a denser texture and a more fragrant aroma. They are incredibly delicious!
Waking up early to breathe in the fresh air, the freshness of the sea has a unique freshness, unlike the freshness of mist. You can feel the distinctive aroma, the refreshing cool breeze. Especially when accompanied by gentle sunlight, it feels like recharging your energy.
Start your day with a good feeling and some delicious breakfast at the “Cliff View Restaurant”. You’ll enjoy stunning sea views while indulging in a buffet-style (although currently served as an à la carte menu).
After a day filled with recharging ourselves, enjoying delicious food, and admiring the beautiful views of Koh Samui from our room and the hotel’s viewpoint all day long, even though we had to walk up and down the hill and felt a bit tired at times, we didn’t feel exhausted. A brief rest was all it took to rejuvenate, and we continued to have fun taking more photos. Let’s fill ourselves up with energy for another fantastic day on our trip to Merit Resort Samui.
