“River Kwai Village” in Kanchanaburi offers a truly worthwhile experience, with its rivers, mountains, and ambiance.

Kanchanaburi is a province that offers a plethora of tourist attractions. Every visit here brings a sense of well-being, with its refreshing weather and friendly locals. With its mountains, waterfalls, and numerous other attractions, Kanchanaburi has it all. However, one place that takes the experience to another level is the “River Kwai Village.” Here, you can experience an onsen that rivals those in Japan without having to travel far. Moreover, their spa treatments are exceptional and unique, offering a highlight and surprise amidst the natural surroundings. It’s truly amazing, and the prices are reasonable, so you won’t regret spending your money here. Additionally, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy, whether you prefer relaxing activities like mineral baths, massages, scrubs, and skincare treatments, or if you’re into nature, you can go kayaking in the wetlands. For adventure seekers, there are also numerous adventure activities available. In short, everything you need for a complete vacation can be found at “River Kwai Village.”

large, spacious lobby

Our room is in the cliff wing zone, with a view overlooking the mountains and the river like this.

Inside the spacious room, there’s a truly large bed, often referred to as a special-sized bed. It’s actually two beds joined together that can be rolled apart and rolled together.

If you’re looking for a cute café to chill out, ‘Rimkwai Bar & Cafe’ has got you covered! Located riverside, this newly opened café offers delicious coffee and more. At night, it transforms into a trendy bar serving food and drinks.

Let’s check out the beautiful surroundings around the hotel together! There are plenty of picturesque spots to relax and take lots of photos.

Grab a slow-paced wooden swing seat, enjoy the view of the water, admire the scenery, and bask in the pleasant and shady atmosphere.

With up to 4 swimming pools, ‘River Kwai Village’ guarantees the grandeur of its size.

It’s time to indulge in some onsen relaxation, which isn’t located within the resort area but in another corner by the riverbank. There’s a shuttle boat service available, taking just 5 minutes to reach. The scenic views along the way are truly delightful.

Here we are at Rock Valley Hot Spring and Fish Spa, a spa hidden amidst nature. It’s not about luxury here, but about connecting with nature and relaxation from the moment you step in.

We provide changing clothes, specifically sarongs. Our staff will assist you in wrapping them securely, ensuring thickness and no worries about slipping. The changing room is equipped with lockers, hair dryers, and dressing accessories.

Today I went for a full program spa treatment! It started with a Thai massage and a facial scrub. While getting the massage, they served freshly squeezed black sugarcane juice, pure without any added sugar. It was absolutely fantastic! Refreshing and not overly sweet on the palate at all.

Before going to soak in the hot spring, it’s important to shower first. There’s a shower room available for you to use. You’ll feel refreshed after taking a shower amidst nature.

After that, we’ll head to soak in the hot springs together. What I love about this place is that it features natural hot spring pools, where all the beneficial minerals for your body and skin are naturally present. There are a total of 15 pools, each with its own unique features. They’re like the signature of each pool. For instance, there’s the sulfur pool, the red clay pool, the coffee pool, the orange peel pool, the Eucalyptus pool, the Chinese tea pool, and even a milk pool. You’ll be spoiled for choice!

The natural ambiance of the onsen is tranquil and private, which is absolutely wonderful. You’ll feel your blood circulation improving and stress dissipating. Despite having up to 15 pools, it’s advisable not to soak for too long. I think around 30-40 minutes is just right for the body.

Let’s head to the Fish Spa next! The sensation of the fish nibbling is truly delightful, better than many other places I’ve tried. It feels like dead skin cells are genuinely being removed.

Now it’s time for some fun! We’ll apply black clay, sourced from Mae Hong Son Province. This clay comes with natural mineral water, rich in beneficial minerals for the skin and essential for blood circulation. There are only three sources of this clay in the world!

Here you don’t need to go out looking for food anywhere else. The restaurant, Jangkeel, offers a stunning view and serves delicious local dishes from Kanchanaburi. I highly recommend trying the “Three-Flavor Fish.” The fresh fish has a well-rounded taste. The home-style chicken curry is also delicious and flavorful. I haven’t tried the chili sauce yet. Live music is available as well, performed by a talented Filipino singer with a great voice.

Around 2 p.m., the hotel provides shuttle service to visit the Hinoki Land, located in the Hinoki Village, where natural Hinoki cypress trees originated. The River Kwai Village takes care of this. You’ll get to see some large Hinoki cypress trees and learn about their life cycle.

Taking photos of Hinoki cypress can be challenging because there’s no light. You’ll only be able to see them when there’s no artificial light. What you’ll see are small greenish dots, which are the lights emitted by the Hinoki cypress.

One more day to go before check-out, and our activity lineup includes various adventures. The highlight is ATV riding. Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to experience it and enjoy the resort’s scenic views along the way.

Want to experience a complete relaxation getaway with flavors of all kinds? Head to “River Kwai Village” and indulge your wanderlust desires.
