Cross River Kwai is a luxurious riverside villa nestled in the heart of Kanchanaburi province.

Anyone who’s impressed with hotels in the Cross collection will be even more ecstatic when they come to Cross River Kwai in Kanchanaburi. Not only is it centrally located, but this trip will allow you to experience the unique charm of Cross River Kwai, unlike any other. From the service to the complimentary offerings that put a smile on our faces from check-in to check-out, let’s see what Cross River Kwai does to make us this happy.

Starting from the refreshing welcome drink before you even start to feel tired upon arriving at our riverside villa, or what we call the Xfloat Luxe Cabin, the accommodation is more than just a place to stay. What sets the Xfloat Luxe Cabin apart is that its atmosphere resembles having a luxurious villa perched atop the river. The cabins themselves aren’t overly spacious, but they are incredibly functional, with well-proportioned areas for various uses. The bed’s positioning is just perfect for lying down, enjoying the river view, and witnessing the sunrise. I must admit, the bed is so comfortable, with fresh-smelling linens, it feels clean and inviting.

The bathroom is almost as spacious as the bedroom itself, with a stylish and unique design.

For the complimentary amenities in the room, they are more than complete. We particularly appreciate the Nespresso coffee machine and the Marshall speaker provided for setting the ambiance with music. As for the mini-bar, it offers a selection of snacks and beverages, including soft drinks and assorted snacks. There will be a list detailing the items available for your convenience.

Walking out onto the terrace, you’ll find the kayaks neatly docked and waiting for you in an orderly manner. Above, there’s a staircase leading up to a deck where you can enjoy expansive, far-reaching views.

Another complimentary feature that impressed us greatly is how much attention the hotel pays to creating memorable experiences for its guests, right down to the smallest details. For instance, the tea set with waffles or the afternoon toast set are provided with great care and attention, ensuring that guests feel truly valued and pampered during their stay.

To add another small surprise during turndown service, they offer warm milk before bedtime. It’s delightful and truly adds to the overall experience. The milk is delicious too!

In the morning, don’t forget to wake up and witness the sunrise. It’s another breathtaking moment at the resort. The sun rises above the water, and you can even see it from your bed. Alternatively, going up to the deck to watch it rise is also magnificent.

The breakfast here is hands down the best I’ve ever had in Kanchanaburi. I dare say it’s exceptionally good in terms of both quality of ingredients and taste. It’s the highlight of Cross River Kwai Resort. One dish that I particularly enjoyed is the Pad Mama Hai So, which is an interesting fusion dish. It’s packed with a variety of ingredients, similar to American-style fried rice. It has a slight fusion twist to it. Besides that, there are many other menu options available without limits. The portion sizes are just right, and ordering two plates leaves you completely satisfied.

There’s also a mini buffet line available, consisting of beverages, herbal drinks, and yogurt.

For dinner, we opted to dine at the resort, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the dishes shown in the images. The glass noodle salad (Yum Woon Sen) had a mild, fragrant flavor with a hint of garlic, which was delightful. The spicy and sour shrimp soup (Tom Yum Goong) had just the right amount of spiciness, providing a perfect balance. As for the fried chicken, it was a chef’s recommendation – crispy on the outside, tender and slightly salty on the inside. Everything was delicious!

After finishing our meal, we sat down to admire the view of the river. This resort isn’t very large, and to be honest, we felt like staying in our room all day. Everything was just perfect for relaxation. However, we couldn’t resist stepping out to admire the atmosphere of the resort a bit more.

The swimming pool is an infinity pool with a stunning view. It’s really beautiful. The pool has a shallow area for kids and a deeper zone for serious swimming.

For those who are traveling with children, it might be more convenient to stay in the Luxe Cabin Suite, which is located near the swimming pool area.

Ending this trip feels like it’s not really over; I want to stay longer. We’ll save it for next time, Cross River Kwai.
