Review: Fun Water Park Resort in Kanchanaburi, Delicious Food at Lake Heaven Resort and Park.
This hot weather calls for cooling off with some water fun, and the top water park in Kanchanaburi, Lake Heaven Resort and Park, or Lake Heaven, is our next destination. Then, we drove until we reached the Srinakarin Dam to encounter the floating houses surrounded by mountains. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes from downtown Kanchanaburi, which is quite reasonable. The route is good, with plenty of shops and cafes along the way for a pleasant drive.
And wow, we were welcomed by a large group of spacious accommodation units at Lake Heaven Resort and Park. There are many different types of rooms available, and the array of amenities is just impressive. I can’t wait to dive in!
From the parking lot, it’s about a fifteen-minute walk down to the pier. Actually, there’s a buggy service available, but it’s not too far to the point where walking becomes unbearable. We strolled along the floating pontoons until we reached the ferry wheel, and in no time, we were there.
The room rate includes a full board meal package with three meals and all non-oil-based activities, including wet rafting. If you arrive feeling exhausted, you can dine right away as there is a buffet available for lunch. The food offers a variety of delicious Thai dishes. As for the room we stayed in, it’s a package room named “Crystal Prince Pavilion.” It’s a new, tranquil zone with spacious interiors and a balcony offering a scenic view of the floating mountains. Standard amenities include a television, refrigerator, quiet air conditioning, soap, shampoo, and bottled water.
Padala is another popular raft here, suitable for two people. It faces the playground, meaning you can easily access the water from the balcony. However, there’s a rule here that life jackets must be worn when using the playground equipment. Initially, I forgot to wear one while eagerly wanting to play on the equipment. However, the staff promptly reminded me to put it on for safety reasons.
Before playing on the equipment and entering the water, you can get life jackets at the Padamarine. This spot also provides locker rentals and shoe rentals. For the adventurous types who prefer more relaxed activities, there are options like paddle boats, kayak rides, or leisurely walks through water tunnels. These options are perfect for those who prefer to take it easy.
For watercraft like jet skis, which use fuel, they are not included in the package. You would need to pay separately for them at the lobby.
The wet rafting starts when the sun is shaded and the wind is calm. It will take you to admire the dam, and the atmosphere is absolutely delightful. It’s a great way to cool off. The round trip takes approximately 1 hour.
The sunset behind the mountains creates a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
The dinner came in buffet style with a variety of options to choose from, all of high quality. The food was prepared in a style that caters to the taste of Kanchanaburi locals, and what I liked the most was the crispy and succulent fried garlic pork. It was marinated just right, with a touch of city-style seasoning. I think the food here really hits the spot for Thai palates.
Breakfast.
For those who want to admire the dam but prefer not to stay on the raft, Lake Heaven also offers accommodations on the shore. This zone is designed in a resort-style setting with private bungalows connected by pathways adorned with lush greenery. It’s just as inviting to stay here. Inside, the amenities are just as comprehensive as those on the raft.
For adventure seekers, if you want to go camping, Lake Heaven also offers dome tents. If the weather gets a bit chilly and the night sky is dark, opening up the tent to stargaze should offer a fantastic view of the stars. Inside the tent, there’s air conditioning available. However, please note that the bathroom facilities for the tents are shared.
The nighttime atmosphere is anything but dull! With beautiful lights and vibrant colors, it’s perfect for relaxation, fun, and even parties. Lake Heaven Resort and Park truly offers everything you need for a complete and enjoyable getaway.
