Chiang Mai in the most classic location, The Chiang Mai Old Town.

The Chiang Mai Old Town makes us fall in love with Chiang Mai even more. This trip is incredibly convenient, offering luxury at an affordable price that you can grasp. What we love about The Chiang Mai Old Town, besides being the heart of Chiang Mai, is the abundance of details that make you feel genuinely cared for as a guest through heartfelt hospitality.

The guest care at The Chiang Mai Old Town is impressive right from the moment you arrive. You can conveniently park in front of the hotel, and the parking area is not only right by the road but also safe. The lobby is close by, and what’s particularly noteworthy is the welcome drink and various snacks available throughout the day. There’s a cozy lounge where you can relax, enjoy coffee, read a book, or even wait for your flight if you’ve already checked out. It truly enhances the overall experience.

The Chiang Mai Old Town, along with the unmentioned aspects, is the best central location in Chiang Mai. The accommodation is situated near a road that provides easy access to Tha Pae Walking Street. Additionally, both Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang are in close proximity. If you plan to organize a temple-hopping trip, you can cover all these temples in a short amount of time. For those who enjoy indulging in delicious food and prefer a slow travel experience, the area offers a wide selection of restaurants and coffee shops. If you don’t want to venture too far, The Vorra Bistro, the hotel’s cafe, is a cozy option. Upon entering The Vorra Bistro, you’ll be captivated by its appealing ambiance. The bistro serves a variety of coffee beverages and, in the evening, offers a diverse fusion-style menu at surprisingly reasonable prices. Passing travelers might initially think it’s expensive, but upon exploring the menu, they may find some reasonably priced options. Besides the appealing presentation, the dishes are also delicious. The seating options include luxurious indoor spaces or comfortable outdoor areas.

Today, we had an authentic Italian-style meal that was incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. Such prices are certainly hard to come by in Bangkok. The ingredients used and the atmosphere were outstanding. It all began with freshly baked bread served as an appetizer. The warm and fragrant bread was paired with butter while waiting for the main courses. Shortly after, a delightful truffle soup was served, beautifully presented with a rich truffle aroma. The soup featured truffle-infused ingredients in a light, thin pastry, creating a delightful pairing. Truffle enthusiasts would surely not want to miss this. Following that, we enjoyed a burst of flavors with the tuna tarta, which had just the right amount of spiciness, leaving a refreshing taste. The main dishes, Coq Au Vin and Poached Black Cod, were equally delicious. As for desserts, the highlight was the exceptionally tasty Pistachio Tiramisu and Amenovil. The entire dining experience was a delightful journey through authentic Italian flavors.

The Chiang Mai Old Town offers a variety of room types, with a total of 5 options. The room type you stayed in is a Deluxe King, which is elegantly decorated in a contemporary style. Warm and rich tones create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, providing a luxurious and comfortable space to relax. The room is spacious, covering 40 square meters, and features a soft sofa for TV watching, perfect for those relaxing moments. The bed, with premium bedding, offers such comfort that you may unintentionally doze off. The generously sized bathroom adds to the overall comfort, ensuring a pleasant experience. Additionally, each room comes with a balcony, allowing guests to enjoy the surroundings.

The Deluxe Twin or King with Bathtub is decorated similarly to the Deluxe King room. If anyone desires a balcony and a bathtub, this room type is the one to choose. It offers an added space of 50 square meters, ensuring convenience and comfort with all the amenities provided.

The highest-tier room type at The Chiang Mai Old Town is The Heritage House Suite with Balcony, which is located in a traditional wooden house. This suite has been newly renovated into a luxurious accommodation while preserving its original classic charm. The room, spanning 60 square meters, combines the timeless elegance of the past with modern updates, offering an even more relaxing and comfortable stay.

The hotel amenities include a centrally located swimming pool, offering views of rice fields and a simulated staircase. At times, it evokes thoughts of Japan. Additionally, there is a fitness center and spa available.

The Vorra Spa offers an excellent massage experience to the point where one hour feels insufficient. The massage is skillfully executed, and the spa ambiance is serene. It’s a compact-sized spa with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. After the massage, they provide delicious mango sticky rice, which adds to the overall delightful experience.

The breakfast served at The Vorra Bistro is an à la carte menu that allows unlimited choices. Every dish is freshly prepared, using high-quality ingredients. We were impressed by the Provence-style breakfast menu, a unique offering not seen in any other hotel before. The roasted eggplant with cheese was exceptionally delicious, with a thin layer of crepe wrapping tightly around a rich filling of cheese, mushrooms, and spinach, creating a harmonious and flavorful combination. Additionally, there was a Northern-style omelet, served in small and enticing portions, featuring Hang Lay curry, clear chili dip, grilled pork, boiled vegetables, and a set of bread and fruits for each table.

Ended the Chiang Mai trip with a satisfied belly and gained a plethora of additional photos. Personally, I think The Chiang Mai Old Town is suitable for those who want to explore the heart of Chiang Mai, close to popular attractions and renowned restaurants. It offers a trendy and chill atmosphere at an affordable price. The new accommodation is clean, and the facilities include a swimming pool, fitness center, and spa. It’s safe to say it’s great value for the money.
