Chalong Bay.

A “sunrise” bay at the southeastern part of Phuket. Chalong bay has a well developed visitor’s infrastructure with many different offers regarding accomodation, food, sports and entertainment. It is less crowded than Phatong beach which is 10 km away on Phuket’s west side, separated by ridge of hills.
            At the center of Chalong bay is the town of Chalong, astarting point for diving tours in southern Phuket. The tide in the bay is rather shallow. A long pier that can easily be seen on satellite images has been constructed to dock the tour boats there.South from Chalong town is Friendship beach with several resorts and restaurants and the nearby island Koh Lon.The northeast section of Chalong bay is formed by Cape Phanwa, itself a famous scenic viewpoint.
