Karen is the tribe which has many ethnic groups and several languages. Older generation Karen believed in ghost and big trees, but now they have religions such as Buddhism or Christianity. They were originally from Burma, but after war they moved to Thailand.
Karen is divided into 4 groups. Pakayor is one of those 4 groups with most population.
They have their own alphabets which were created by a missionary who adapted from
Burmese and Roman alphabets. Most people of Pakayor group had become Christian. Karen is known as honest people and a great hunter in the forest. They love freedom and peace. They have many beautiful songs of their own. Karen women are strict in virginity and they will keep their virgin for the men they love.
The roof of the 2-storey 2-bedroom villa is made of teak leaves and richly decorated with
Karen style fabric and embroidery. Karen people still use teak leaves to make their roof until today.
